Just in case any of you are wondering why you are not getting any kind of Christmas card from me this year, I will let you know. Besides the fact that I have been in Mexico, and the price of postage alone would make me go broke to send all my dearest friends and family Christmas notes…there is in fact another excuse that I would like to present.
Over the last several weeks I have been encouraging, prodding and practically demanding Christmas cards from kids and young adults ages 4-24 to send to sponsors around the U.S. and Canada. After each of these cards has been lovingly made and written (and believe me there is a lot of love in them) I had the joy of translating each and every one from Spanish to English. Then I got to stuff them in envelopes, seal them and address them **with the loving help of a group of people from Chicago and California—Thank you!!**
So, after making sure that over 200 Christmas cards had translations, pictures, cards and what-not and were ready to go without missing anyone from the list (I hope), I honestly don’t feel like I can do any more. However, I do love you all very much and appreciate your love and support that you have been sending me. Know that when I travel home in two weeks (is it really just two weeks now!?) I will be coming home with lots of pictures and stories and I will look forward to sharing with you in that way. For those farther away, write me a letter or e-mail…I try to respond to them in a timely manner and I will answer any questions about my life you may have, that may have been answered in an actual Christmas card.
Merry Christmas, a bit early!!!

The first mailing of the Christmas cards the kids and I have been working on.
