Mud

For those of you who think there is just one type of mud, I am here to tell you differently. Living in Mexico I have found that there are different types of mud. Listing them may remind you a bit of Forrest Gump, but it is true. Here is my poem about mud:

red mud, black mud
yellow mud, sticky mud
goopy mud, rocky mud
grainy mud galoore

brown mud, grey mud
soupy mud, slimy mud

cracked mud, cakey mud

slowing growing stagnant mud


slipping and slidding on mud
winding my way through mud

rain mud
hail mud
partly dried in the sun mud

mud puddles
mud pies
mud that never seems to dry
mud you can walk through and mud you can't
mud stuck to my shoes...
and another muddy footprint on the freshly mopped floor
