Lent Day 9: Place

See this couch? This is where I have been spending most of my time these days. When I thought of place, the immediate thought I had was of my place where I spend my time. Currently it is in this location with this pillow nursing my child. She is determined to catch up with other infants her age, having started out below 5 pounds. Currently she is working her way up the ranks, but still comes in smaller than babies born today who are a month younger than her. Oh well, I'm just glad she doesn't comprehend everything around her so she doesn't end up with a complex of some sort--"Oh she is so small!!!"  But this has been my place- at least my physical place. My mental place has been much more variable as I work through the transition of being a full-time employee to being a full-time mom. It is definitely a different place to be and one that keeps me pondering every day.

To bring it back to Lent and drawing closer to God, this place is also a place of reflection. It is a place of prayer as I ask God for a brief picture of what this season of life will be like, who to serve and what activities to be involved in; as I pray to stay awake in the wee hours of the morning; as I ponder what the day will hold, who I will see, and what I should do in order to keep life interesting. So much to think about as I sit in my current place.
